With over 25 years of law enforcement experience, Jim brings real world experience to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Foundation. He is in command of the Los Angeles Regional Office and Riverside Regional Office with a footprint stretching from San Luis Obispo County to the international border. Jim is the Special Agent in Charge for the Department of Justice – Bureau of Investigation. She also holds a Master’s in Governance from the California School Boards Association. Gloria holds the following degrees: Bachelor of Arts Degree from California State University, Northridge Master of Science, School Administration and Management, Pepperdine University and a Master of Science, La Verne University, Educational Psychology. In addition to her volunteer work with the Sheriff’s Foundation Board, Gloria also devotes her personal time serving on various other boards including the SCV Boys & Girls Club, Samuel Dixon Family Health Center, Child & Family Center, Providence Health & Services Clinical Services and the SCV Veteran’s Collaborative, to name a few. She was honored as the 2018 SCV Woman of the Year and was named SCV Top 51 Most Influential by the Signal Newspaper for 10 consecutive years. Gloria was raised in the Santa Clarita Valley and has demonstrated a life-time commitment to public service and volunteerism.

Prior to serving on the Hart District Board she served on the Castaic Union Elementary School District Governing Board. Gloria served four terms (16 years) as a publicly elected official on the Governing Board of the William S. During her 30-year career in education she has served as teacher, counselor, principal, Assistant Superintendent and Superintendent/President and, at one time, was responsible for 125 schools and had a personal budget of over $225 million dollars. Gloria has extensive experience as an educational leader. GES works with school organizations undertaking leadership and cultural transformations. Gloria Mercado-Fortine is CEO/President of Global Education Solutions, Inc., an educational leadership consultancy. An additional approximately 70,000 residents live in the un-incorporated area of the Santa Clarita Valley.Ĭaptain Diez entered the Sheriff’s Training Academy in December of 2001. Upon graduating from Academy Class #327, he was assigned to the Pitchess Detention Center - North County Correctional Facility. He also served as a deputy at various assignments including Transit Services Bureau, Community Oriented Policing Services Bureau, and Operation Safe Streets Bureau. Upon his promotion to sergeant in 2010, Captain Diez was assigned to Lancaster Station, Community Oriented Policing Services Bureau, and Internal Affairs Bureau. After being promoted to lieutenant in 2015, Diez was assigned to Lancaster Station, Internal Affairs Bureau, Santa Clarita Valley Station, Lost Hills Station, and the Hall of Justice.Ĭaptain Diez holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology/Criminology from California State University Northridge and a Master of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Cincinnati Ohio.Ĭaptain Diez has been a resident of Santa Clarita Valley for over 16 years and lives with his wife and two children. The City of Santa Clarita is the third largest city in Los Angeles County, with a population of approximately 220,000 residents. He was promoted to the rank of Captain and assigned to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station in March of 2020. The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station is located 26 miles north of Los Angeles and provides law enforcement services to approximately 290,000 residents. Captain Justin Diez is a 19 year veteran of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
